A Very Special Day

Yesterday was a very special day for me. It was my birthday. I shared the special even with my mom, sisters, daughters, son and husband. A handful of friends wished me a happy birthday as well as all of my family members. It was a wonderful day that began with baseball. We went to lunch at my parent's house which consisted of pizza until the power went out. After a half an hour, the power came back on and the pizza was finished cooking. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and opening presents. The presents consisted of a cute teapot with a cup and saucer. I also got a Vera Bradley mini Besty bag. It is so beautiful. I am totally loving it! I have been eying my sister's Vera bags and belongings. My husband honored my wishes and bought me a pizza peeler, a professional pizza cutter, a pastry mat to roll dough on, a tart burner, and a professional chopper. I am so excited about the new things that I get to play with in my kitchen. As a matter of fact, I believe we are having pizza tonight. Later I will post my recipe for the most delicious pizza that I make with my family.

God was gracious yesterday as well. The day remained beautiful with sunshine until we made it home that evening when the rain began to fall. Each time I ventured outside, the rain stopped momentarily until I was safely in the building I was walking into. For supper, I chose to eat at two of my favorite places. One was called Chopsticks and is owned by oriental people. I love the boneless spareribs and the sweet and sour chicken there. Because my husband didn't think he bought enough food there (which he didn't), we ended up buying our regular supper choice at Taco Bell as well. The grande meal with taco's and burritos, a chicken burrito, a five layer burrito, and nachos. We only ate the things that we knew we couldn't heat up again. The others have taken up residence in our refrigerator for leftovers.

All in all it was a pretty remarkable day. the kids got along. The mood was calm. I felt like I was on cloud nine.

I was very thankful for my day yesterday. I hope the rest of the week continues to go the same way.
