We homeschool our three children. That is something quite obvious that I've been talking about for awhile. This year we have decided to use an online curriculum. I was a little concerned about using it at first because we have a slow internet connection where we live in the country. However it has proved to be successful so far. The internet has held well for our children to all be doing their school work as well as me being able to write. I tried to tell them that next year we would be doing a book curriculum again and they weren't happy about that. They really enjoy doing this online curriculum. I think it is wonderful for them because they are able to explore areas that they wouldn't normally be able to explore in our small town.
With Christmas around the corner and four birthday's before it, we are becoming a very busy household. There are still gifts to get and stocking stuffers to buy. The kids have a Christmas concert on Sunday and we have a church Christmas party as well. This is the first one that we are attending as we didn't go to the one last year.
The cookstove is proving to be very helpful in keeping the house warm. It was below zero last night and it felt like we were in Hawaii. It was so hot in here that I had to make sure the house wasn't on fire. It is nice to know that we can keep a fire going and help heat our house wihout using so much oil. It has proved to be difficult though to heat the upstairs with the wood cook stove because it just isn't getting to that part of the house. My husband has had the idea of knocking part of the wall down so that there is an easier way for the heat to get there. I think it is a fabulous idea. I may just have to bring that idea back up to him.

We're working on staying warm in Southern Maine. I think it's great you're homeschooling your littles!

Still homeschooling? You rock! I have been reading. The stove you got looks very cozy and I'm glad you are finding a curriculum that works for everyone. I still have those Math-U-See blocks you sent me all those years ago! :)

The stove we have is very cozy. It is so cozy that the oil heat doesn't kick on as much as at should and we've had frozen pipes here and there. Thankfully they haven't burst. That is wonderful. I'm glad you still have the blocks. It seems like so very long ago when we first started homeschooling doesn't it?

I'm glad that you are working on staying warm. Continue to do so as the snow comes in this week and the temperatures continue to drop.

Hello Again!

It has been a long road these past few years. There have been many trials and tribulations. But I have made it through to the other side. I ...
