I had the opportunity tonight to spend time with extended family. It was really nice and something that doesn't happen too often with my side of the family. I have relatives that are up from Arizona visiting. My aunt called me this afternoon and invited us over for a lasagna supper. I instantly said yes and called Bo at work to see if it was okay. It was. We were ready at the curb when he got home and off we went. We had a chance to visit with family that were themselves, not fake like my mom and sisters. We sang, we talked, we joked, and we reminisced. We enjoyed our time with our family. Something I don't usually get to do with my husband there.
Family is very dear to me. It is just difficult sometimes to have all of us together especially when my mom is involved. She is very "fake" with Bo and he doesn't like that. So he has painted himself out of the picture with my mom. It is hard sometimes but we have learned to adapt.
I'm glad that I have Bo and my family. I don't know what I would do without them.
