This week, only being two days in, has been simply divine. I have found a website through a homeschool group I'm apart of online. It is called Science Explorer It is a really awesome website that has many different kinds of experiments to do at home. They use pretty much every day things you can find around the house. Yesterday we made the Bubble Bomb It was a lot of fun. Each of our attempts worked as well. I started doing Language with Taitem and Hunter. They are learning about commas. I attempted it with Peyton too but she's too young to really get it. I made myself a language notebook to put all the worksheets and lesson plans in that I have found from this website worksheet place. I really like this site too. For math this week I've used Math Fact Cafe, which my friend Paula recommended to me. I love this because we are working on mastering addition facts for Peyton and multiplication facts for Taitem and Hunter. We are using this awesome book site for our reading questions. I have a lot of the books that are on this site so it makes it easier to use the questions.
Our day went awesome yesterday. It went smoothly and there was no arguing at all. I was so happy.
Today's day is a little tougher because I have to find other things for Peyton to use. I hope you all have a great day today. I know that even though I am freezing today, I'm still having a good day.

Commas are something we work on every now and then as well. Unfortunately, being in journalism, I've learned it "wrong."
I would write "apples, bananas and oranges" (that's the way papers print... I guess it saves space?) but the correct way is to write "apples, bananas, and oranges" when you're not writing for print. Weird, huh?
:]
I had that issue with it yesterday. The worksheet said apples, bananas and orange. While my Abeka book said apples, bananas, and oranges. I've always been taught to do the latter of the two.
Either one could be technically correct although omitting the comma is more common in print journalism. Omitting the comma could also be considered more modern.
Do you home-school, homeschool, or "conduct school at home?" :]
