Our Little Cheerleader

Ever since I can remember, Grace has wanted to be a cheerleader. When she was little, she begged for a cheerleader uniform. Her sister attempted cheerleading, but it wasn't for her. She loved to watch her sister while she was at cheerleading practice. She waited until she was old enough to participate.

With much excitement, this year, she was able to sign up. She was so excited when she came home from school, when I told her that she was all signed up. However, I don't think that she was ready for all the hard work that entailed in cheerleading. There is a lot of running, jumping, and exercise involved. I am proud that she has stuck with it though and is seeing it through until the end. That is true commitment.

I am so proud that she is able to cheer. This is one of her favorite things to do. It is awesome to watch her practice her moves and the dance that they are working on. It is amazing to watch this little girl grow up.

She has grown so much this year and I am very proud of her for that. She is becoming a young lady, while still holding on to her little girlhood. This makes me happy and at times sad. Happy because she is growing up into a talented, wonderful young lady. Sad because she is my baby and I know that we are moving out of little kidhood with your children.

Moving on from having young children like my sister, to a preteen and two teenagers. I never thought I would reach this time. It is a time of independence and learning the rules to seek new adventures for the future. Our teenagers are beginning to search through life and find out what they want to accomplish as adults. They are beginning to plan colleges and their lives after college. For that I am very proud of them.

For now, I will savor this journey and continue to watch our children grown and walk beside them along the way. I am excited for this journey and scared for them as well. However, I know that their dad and I will always be there for them no matter what path they choose in life. We will be there to support them and help them in any way. We will let them fall and help them back up.

I am excited to watch her cheer at the Rec. games and watch her practices. I will cheer her on and continue to encourage her. I am proud of her accomplishments and all that they mean to not only her but us as well.

Great Job Gracie!! We are so proud of you!!
